The name of my photography business is Lilyanna Photography. However, Lilyanna is not my name. It’s a combination of my first two daughters' names. Lily was my first daughter who passed away in utero before she had a chance to see the world. She passed away in May of 2008. In May of 2009, my husband and I were blessed to welcome my beautiful daughter Savanna into the world. So many things about me and my life changed during this time period. A quote I found at that time said, “out of the darkness always comes the light.” That is why I named my business Lilyanna. Savanna is truly the light that came out of a very dark time. I am reminded of Lily’s presence through the light in the eyes of my Savanna. It is the light in those eyes that I always try to capture. It was at this time that I also made the decision to begin this photography journey as a business. It is the loss of my first daughter that changed how I felt about spending each and every moment with my children…I find the simplest of things to be sacred now. It also changed how I wanted to spend my time as a profession. Photography was always a passion and a hobby, but it has become much more than that now. It was not until that time that I realized that this life had something else in store. I seek now to help others capture the light and the moments with their babies and families. I set out to do it for my clients, with the same love and importance that I do with my own family. For if I help one family capture one memory, it will never be forgotten!
In August, 2010, I was blessed with another baby. My son Nolan. The joy that he and Savanna have brought to my life is immeasurable. I consider myself very lucky to be all of their Mommies! For they have forever changed me and forever have changed my journey.
So, who am I? My name is Jenn Stacey, I am predominately a natural light photographer…seeking out light in every situation I am in. I am an on-site custom photographer. I prefer to capture moments of babies and families in their own settings, or in a fun and comfortable setting. I set out to capture those expressions and faces that you think you will never forget, but that are ever so fleeting. However, I am not entirely a lifestyle photographer. I happen to also appreciate and recognize the value and importance of a posed or portrait style photograph. Let’s face it, those are the ones we like to give Grandma. I prefer a mixture. I like photography as art that you can put on your wall and people are in awe over. However, I do sometimes simulate a more portrait setting. This is done at request and based on availability of light in your home. Please be sure to indicate your preference if you have one when booking a session with me!
